Position Overview:
- Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time
- Location: Milford Area Public Schools
- Reports To: Transportation Supervisor
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, AM and PM shifts available, with potential for field trips and extracurricular events
- Salary: Competitive pay, with benefits for eligible employees
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students to and from school, and on extracurricular trips, following an established route and schedule
- Ensure the safety of students while loading and unloading the bus, and during transportation
- Maintain order on the bus, adhering to district policies
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure proper working condition
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students as needed
Qualifications:
- Must be age 21 or older
- Be able to pass a favorable physical examination including testing for tuberculosis and chemical testing for drugs and alcohol.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must hold or be able to obtain a “Class B” CDL license with a Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsement and a school bus driver permit
- Ability to pass background checks as required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
